First post!

hello! welcome to my first blog. that thumbnail was originally meant to be a place holder but ive become sorta attached to him now and I think he ought to stay. I already keep a diary which I write in every night and so I dont rlly know what sorta role I want my blog to play. i suppose that my blog is more for an audience even if noone reads it but even then my diary is sorta for an audience even though im not planning on ever letting anyone read it but all the same i feel when Im writing it im not entirely honest. i quite often end up saying what i feel I ought to say. bcos i write in my diary daily it's sorta naturally become a chronicle or record or what not of what happens each day obviously with introspection and consideration but still fundamentally for recording because otherwise i think I would forget everything. even with my diary sometimes i could be convinced nothings every happened at all. i spose in a sense my diary is kinda fictional too not intentionally just because i cant help consdering how it all sounds even though hopefully noone ever sees it. but i think that given this blog isnt gonna be daily theres more room for specific topics and more consideration and so on. not just a record. though we'll see how long it lasts.
just whilst i was getting this set up came across this https://wearcam.org/previous_experiences/eastcampusfire/index.html website. really cool. something in particular about that post i really like.
on my uni semester break and havent done too much. harvested the last of the vegetables i grew over winter (beetroots and kale and brocolli) and made a quiche with the kale and brocolli and borscht with the beetroot along with a beetroot chocolate cake which when i saw the recipe struck me as bizarre but i mentioned it to my grandmother and she seemed to know what i was talking about. turned out pretty well. you cant taste the beetroot at all it just makes it rlly light and moist and so on. also gave some beetroots away to my grandparents. think that the first of september from now on is beetroot day for me. 2026 inaugral annual beetroot day. sowed some seeds for spring but the birds have been eating them :( so rigged together a little scarecrow whos been doing a rlly poor job tbh. hes not very good. so hopefully some of the seeds make it through.
also sewed a sorta tunic thing for a renaissance themed party. turned out sorta alright. was sorta aiming for a tarot magician look yk. have assumed the theme is renaissance as in ren fair not renaissance as in renaissance cos if so im screwed.
raining rn (or has just been) but occassional patches of sun make me feel an odd feeling i get every spring that i cant describe well at all. sorta nostalgiac but for something which has never happened and will never happen but all the same its both forward and backward looking nostalgia or smth along those lines. makes me wanna listen to alisons halo. i think the autumn equivalent is Broadcast.
have been trying to make a synth too with some success. is technically a synth but rn very difficult to control and to get making nice sounds so need to work on that. making menus. not fun. managed to make it all in C and its the first big project ive done in C so im happy with that. have decided somewhat arbitrarily that this is gonna be the thing I actually finish. too many things have gone unfinished.
have lab reports i ought to be writing but i think they can wait. have been watching the x-files but the past few evenings but the time i realise it its way too late and im too tired so i havent. missing mulder and scully. reading yuko tsushima child of fortune. like yuko tsushima. dont rlly know why. but like her books. have read a collection of her short stories and territory of light. theres something rlly nice about her writing voice. want to read wildcat dome at some point too.
they were talking on the radio this morning about something or other to an expert on ambiguous loss. think thats a cool phrase. ambiguous loss. that and two cases of mistaken identity killings. have been thinking about an alien archaeologist who comes to a dying earth to collect final artefacts for an exhibit.
